Every collection
Each new VAVA frame leaves the factory with its passport.
Prepared for Pedro da Silva
Illustrative passport. The empty lines fill in over the life of the frame.
Nº 47 of 100. Owner on record. Transfer ready.
Authentic VAVA frame
A new collaboration is coming. As an owner, you see it before anyone else.
Illustrative. You decide what is sent, and when.
You once said you like to think of eyewear as buildings, and of the face as a landscape. We took you at your word. This is the blueprint of a VAVA frame, and everything it can do after the frame leaves the workshop.
Indicative drawing. The chip never sits on the lens. Where it goes is your design call.
No architect hands over a building without the drawings. The materials, the method, the maker, the date. It all goes on record, and the record stays with the building for life.
A VAVA frame is designed with the same discipline. It is the thinking behind your capsule with Kengo Kuma, where the frame is a structure and the face is the landscape it sits on.
But once a VAVA frame is finished, its record stops. It goes out into the world with no drawings at all.
We want to give every VAVA frame its blueprint.

“Technology should be an ally and not an enemy.”
Pedro da Silva, to DOZ magazine
VAVA already lives where craft meets high tech. Italian family factories, industrial milling, 3D printing. The one place technology has not reached yet is the frame's life after it is made.
This is technology as an ally.
Sheet 2 of 10
Every VAVA frame is made from things you chose on purpose. Mazzucchelli M49 acetate. Barberini mineral glass, cut flat. Aluminium 6026. A family factory near Treviso.
Today that lives in a brochure. With TrataTech it lives inside the frame, verified, one frame at a time.
That is proof of authenticity. For us it is the base layer. Everything else is built on top of it.
You once said that consumers hardly find eyewear brands with real design values and story. This is how they find one.
A customer picks up a VAVA frame and taps it.
Sheet 3 of 10
Your Kengo Kuma capsule was made in 100 numbered pieces per colour. Numbered pieces are collector pieces, and collectors ask two questions. Is it real? Is it mine?
The passport answers both. It records who owns each numbered frame. If the frame is sold or given away, ownership moves with it, on record.
The number stops being a stamp. It becomes a history.
Sheet 4 of 10
VAVA Theorem is your philosophy for balancing what people need with what the planet can give. Recyclable acetate. Recyclable glass. Recyclable aluminium. No plastic in the packaging.
A promise is strongest when anyone can check it. The passport carries the proof, frame by frame, to the person wearing it.
Your lab at Passos Manuel already adjusts and repairs frames. Every repair can be added to the frame's history. A frame that is cared for, and can show it, stays in use longer.
Circularity you can see, not just read about.

Then the frame leaves your hands.
“Storytelling must supersede superficiality.”
Pedro da Silva, to DOZ magazine
You said it. Your world is built on it.
None of that fits on a price tag. On a shelf in another country, beside other brands, the frame has to speak for itself.
The tap carries VAVA's whole world, in your words, in more than 45 countries.
Sheet 6 of 10
Your policy has always been few stores per country, and only the best ones. That relationship matters, and nothing here goes around it.
A great optician talks about many brands in one afternoon. The tap gives them VAVA's story in full, ready the moment a customer picks up the frame. A frame that explains itself is easier to sell at its price.
And when that customer comes back, they come back to the same store.
Sheet 7 of 10
Today the relationship ends at the counter. With the passport, it begins there.
Owners can hear from VAVA directly. A new collection. A new collaboration. An installation, like RE-ENVISION at Sónar or SPEED – SLEEP at NeoPop. An invitation to Porto.
You know who owns your frames. They know where VAVA is going next. That is what brings someone back for a second pair.
Sheet 8 of 10
We are ready to begin with your collections now. The chip goes in the frame or in the case, as you decide. The stories, the owner messages and the campaigns come with it from day one.
Where we start is up to you. A few ways it could look:
Each new VAVA frame leaves the factory with its passport.
White Label, Black Label, or a collaboration edition. You pick.
Store, eye clinic and lab under one roof. Every step of the journey in one building.
Whichever you choose, we build around how your team already works.
Sheet 9 of 10
Three things stay fixed.
Proof of authenticity, frame by frame.
Proof of ownership that moves with the frame.
A direct line from VAVA to the people who wear it.
Everything else we shape together.
Sheet 10 of 10
Your campaign said it. Let's build the part that is still missing.
Next, we'd like an hour with you: a demo of the TrataTech product, and a conversation about where to start. A detailed proposal will follow separately.
Everything on this page is illustrative. Chip placement is always decided with VAVA. We have placed chips in the temple of acetate frames before, but on a VAVA frame, whether it sits in the frame or in the case is your design call.
